Muskoka Camping - Convenient Location! Great Price!
An easy, 550m (approx 5 minute) hike-In style campsite via a gravel driveway and used ATV trail, beside Windermere Road (just past Brackenrig Rd on the way to Windermere Village) in beautiful Muskoka! Plenty of parking space for your vehicle and/or boat at the trail head. Only 5 minutes to the Village of Windermere/Windermere House Resort and 15 minutes from Port Carling, Muskoka. Very quiet site with no other people, campsites or cottages next door! NOTE: This look-out campsite is NOT for partiers, small children or sleep walkers due to the cliff! Pets friendly but please keep them in sight! The campsite is on a large granite rocky outcropping surrounded by 180 degree view of Three Mile Lake, Pine and Oak Tree Forests! This cliff-top campsite is 45m above Three Mile Lake, facing East for spectacular morning sunrises! You can see for many kilometres Eastward and watch the wildlife, boats on the lake and the various cottages dotting the shoreline. This makes for a beautiful view at night as well with the twinkling cottage lights and campfires dotting the shorel Various locations around the lake give you public access for your canoe or boat. Looking for a nearby pub or restaurant? Windermere House Resort and their Pub are a great place for a meal and or refreshing beer while overlooking Lake Rosseau. A public beach is also located at Windermere House with a beautiful hard-packed sand beach, docks and raft to swim too with safety buoy-lines! The Town of Bracebridge is a scenic 30 minute one-way drive and the Town of Huntsville is only 35km one-way drive. This lake has great fishing too with a marina only 5 minutes drive away for boat launch. Keep in mind, during dry seasons, the Fire Permit System is in effect so if dry conditions prevail, a fire is illegal and enforced by local by-law and Ministry of Natural Resources & Forests officials. The site has room for any tent and includes a fire-pit and picnic table and a few outdoor chairs. There is no barbecue but there is an old metal bbq that could handle charcoal briquettes. The view can best be described as - SPECTACULAR and two couples have exchanged their wedding vows/ceremonies on this site! Welcome!

About the host
I am a life-long resident of the District of Muskoka other than the years I spent attending university in London, Peterborough and Thunder Bay. I am a local business owner and retired teacher as well. I own a large 100 acre (44 hectare) property here on Three Mile Lake near Windermere/Port Carling, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. With so much land I really want to share it with others who appreciate the outdoors and the beauty of nature. My property is located in the middle of a forest yet conveniently located within 30km of towns, villages, farmer's markets, pubs, restaurants, golf (rentals available) and even a strawberry farm only a 5 minute drive away! Forest camping with the conveniences if needed. You WILL see the stars easily and clearly here on cloudless nights of course!

BEAUTIFUL location, amazing little village nearby, and exceptional host. We had such an amazing time here!! The site is in an amazing location and very private, with a perfect sunrise. There is a very short hike to the top where the site is, and it is worth every step. Lots of trails to explore, we also stopped to kayak from Windermere beach, went for a swim, and went for a bite to eat at Windy's on our way out of the area (we didn't want to leave!) Sandy (the host) helped us find our site the first time, was so incredibly generous and friendly, and gave us so many wonderful recommendations for things to do and see in the area. We would love to return again! I would absolutely recommend to others!
We loved this secluded, peaceful, gorgeous campsite for a quick weekend getaway from the city. The hike in is pretty simple if the weather is cooperating. Sandy was very accommodating, had great response time and made things very easy and smooth to navigate. He gave us many suggestions of things to do around the area. The biggest highlight is watching the night sky - we saw a number of shooting stars. We will definitely be back!

50% Refund (excl Service Fee) until 7 days prior to stay. No refund within 7 days of stay.
NOT for small children or sleep walkers due to a steep cliff. Family or single camping only, NOT A PARTY SITE at ALL! Ideal for older families or those who want a peaceful night or more of camping. Quiet area of Muskoka and of course all local by-laws apply from fire permit/bans to fireworks on weekends only, otherwise you personally face the wrath of the Township of Muskoka Lakes By-Law Office! Please take your garbage with you and leave only footprints. This is a pristine area in the middle of a forest however there are cottages on the lake below so we need to maintain respect for our neighbours as I live here year-round. Expect to see a lot of nature's kind of wildlife from deer, to wild turkeys, foxes, moose and more! Last rule - have fun and leave only footprints!
